Cinema Intelligence strengthens US office and announces new appointments

Los Angeles, March 22, 2017 – Cinema Intelligence, the first collection of business intelligence solutions aimed at cinema exhibitors designed to optimize predicting, planning and scheduling of movies, alternative content and corporate events, and increase profitability, has recently added Chief Sales Officer, Kevin Hong, and Product Manager, Michelle Goodwin as it focuses on expansion in the US markets.

Prior to joining Cinema Intelligence Kevin cofounded Dealflicks and served as the Chief of Business Development until September of 2016. Under Kevin’s leadership, Dealflicks raised over $4M from notable investors such as 500 Startups, Warner Bros/Turner Broadcasting (Media Camp Accelerator), and Barbara Cocoran (Shark Tank). Kevin’s sales team was well known in the movie industry and Silicon Valley scene for its successful deal-making abilities, highlighted by its Man Van campaigns, which was a sales and marketing campaign that required bootstrapping the sales team to travel across the country in a van to visit as many theater partners as possible. At the time of Kevin’s departure, Dealflicks was doing $7M/year (annualized) and was partnered with 750+ cinemas across the country.
Prior to Dealflicks, Kevin worked as a stockbroker and as a Financial Analyst for 5 years. Kevin worked at Merrill Lynch, E*Trade Financial, and William O’Neil. “I was extremely excited when Cinema Intelligence and Claudiu reached out to me to spearhead the sales efforts. I’ve truly enjoyed building long-term business partnerships in the industry and I believe the software created by Cinema Intelligence is intensely ground-breaking. I am extremely excited to continue to help exhibitors grow their business in this digital age.” says Kevin.

Michelle Goodwin, will be joining as Product Manager for Cinema Intelligence to spearhead US expansion efforts. Prior to joining Cinema Intelligence, Michelle was in charge of operations for Veezi, a cloud-based SaaS solution designed for smaller cinemas part of Vista Group. During this time, Veezi site numbers grew substantially in the US and worldwide. Michelle holds a degree in Cognitive Science & Computing from UCLA. As a student at UCLA, Michelle started her career with the Vista Group as a Software Application Consultant.
Through her experience, Michelle developed a passion for cinema exhibition and delivering technology that empowers movie theaters to operate faster and smarter in the digital age. “The key to success” Michelle says, “was listening very closely to customer feedback at every step of the way. The Veezi product would not have achieved success without those valuable user insights”. She is thrilled now to bring this same approach as Product Manager for Cinema Intelligence, to help lead the team as it gears up for US expansion.

Cinema Intelligence formed a strategic partnership with Vista Group in early 2016 and is now benefitting from the existing cinema exhibitor relationships of the Vista Group companies. “This has led to an increased focus on growing the reach and scale of the business and we are now excited to focus our efforts on US expansion. We developed this product with a global market in mind, and I am confident that both Michelle and Kevin will help us accelerate our growth in the North American market.” says CEO of Cinema Intelligence Claudiu Tanasescu.
Some of Cinema Intelligence’s clients outside of the US include Pathe (Netherlands), JT Cinemas (Netherlands) Mars Entertainment (Turkey), Cinemaxx (Germany), NuMetro (South Africa), UCI (Germany), Vox (UAE), Kinepolis (Belgium)
